Due to the fact that the Soysambu Conservancy has, until now, been part of a private ranch belonging to the Delamere family, the wildlife exists in an essentially pristine state – untarnished by the effects of mass tourism. Highlights include: 400 species of birds, Defassa waterbuck, gazelles, antelope, the endangered Rothschild’s Giraffe, rock hyrax, impala, dik-dik, bush pigs, aardvark, leopard, striped hyena, bat-eared fox, wild cat, golden cat, reedbuck and buffalo.
